Psoriasis: Symptoms and Treatments

Psioriasis is an autoimmune condition which leads to a massive build-up of skin cells. The patient experiences a scaling on the surface of his skin, which tends to be a silvery white colour. In extreme cases, the skin surface cracks and bleeds.

The general symptoms a patient can look out for are skin conditions that are dry, crack and bleeding. There might be some form of soreness around the affected skin patch. An itchy or burning sensation could occur, as well as the presence of plaque around the red patches. There are cases where patients are found to also have joints that are swollen and painful.
Psioriasis can be treated in number of ways. For starters, the trigger for the condition needs to be identified. Triggers vary from one individual to another; it could be caused by alcohol consumption, stress, medications or an untreated infection. The trigger element needs to be brought into control. At the same time, the patient might be administered with systemic medications, topical treatments o light therapy to alleviate the skin illness.

In order to get psioriasis under control, it is highly recommended for the affected person to eat healthily, maintain his weight, shy away from trigger conditions and incorporate supplements into his routine.
